Xenos was founded in 1973 as part of the grocery store formula P. de Gruyter & zn. Blokker Holding acquired the Xenos formula in 1989. Nieuwgeluk acquired the adventurous Xenos from Blokker Holding in 2019.

It is no coincidence that the name Xenos (which is Greek for ‘stranger’), refers to ‘strange’ and to ‘far away countries’. Every item in the store is just that little bit different. Xenos has grown over the years into a chain of homeware, household goods and gift stores.

Xenos has its head office and distribution centre in Waalwijk, the Netherlands.
